If your Wix site sells online to consumers in the EU, the withdrawal button has been mandatory since 19 June 2026 (Directive (EU) 2023/2673, harmonised across the 27 EU member states). Why Wix does not do it for you
Wix is a global platform. The withdrawal button meets a European obligation (Directive (EU) 2023/2673), harmonised across the 27 EU member states. Wix offers no native feature compliant with this framework: bringing your site into compliance is down to you.

How to install it on Wix
Via Custom Code
Settings > Development and integrations > Custom Code. You paste the BackToMe tag into the « Head » area, on all pages, as the « Essential » type. It is the Wix equivalent of an injection into the <head>.
A Premium plan is required
Adding custom code is not available on the free Wix plan. If you sell to consumers, you already have a Premium plan with a domain and e-commerce anyway, so this constraint changes nothing about your setup.
The Wix pitfall to know about
The tag only runs on the published site, not in the Wix editor preview. After pasting the tag and publishing your site, open its public URL to check the button. Looking for it in the editor will show nothing, which is expected, and it is the most common confusion on Wix.

The risk if you do nothing
Since 19 June 2026, the withdrawal button has been mandatory across the whole EU. Without a compliant mechanism, a B2C Wix site is exposed to two cumulative risks: a penalty from the regulator in the buyer's country (in Ireland, the administrative fine (CCPC) of up to 60 000 € under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, and up to 4% of turnover or 2 000 000 € for widespread infringements) and the extension of the withdrawal period to 12 months and 14 days for poorly informed customers.
A customer can then cancel an order up to a year after the purchase and obtain a full refund. The potential cost quickly exceeds that of getting compliant.
