Where the project comes from
A right that has worked badly for too long.
In many distance sales concluded with consumers in the European Union, the customer has a fourteen-day right of withdrawal, subject to the exceptions set out in the legislation.
In practice, exercising that right has often been needlessly difficult. A postal address buried in the terms, a registered letter for an order placed online, a PDF to print, or a phone number available only during business hours. Some customers eventually abandon the process.
The 2023 European directive provides for an “easy-to-find withdrawal function” for distance contracts concluded through an online interface, subject to the applicable national rules.
The problem changes hands: it is no longer for your customer to wear themselves out, it is for you to offer a simple mechanism. The thing is, no shop is going to code that themselves.

Dated archiving you can produce in the event of a dispute
Each request is dated and sealed: any later change becomes detectable, along with the accompanying technical information. A body of proof that the regulator, or a judge, can examine in the event of a dispute.
