What happens at the end of the trial?

Are the withdrawals received enforceable?

Yes, as soon as legal mode is activated. The button's legal status depends on activating the paid mode (archiving that holds up as proof plus an acknowledgement of receipt on a durable medium), not on the calendar date. During the trial and in legal mode, the requests received constitute proof that holds up (before a judge or the regulator); without a subscription, the button is not displayed.

What is the risk of staying non-compliant?

Without a compliant button, the withdrawal period is extended to 12 months and 14 days (an extension harmonised at European level, Directive 2011/83/EU, art. 10), and the regulator in the buyer's country (in Ireland, the CCPC) can impose an administrative fine; each EU country sets its own scale (in Ireland, up to €60,000, and up to 4% of turnover for widespread infringements under the EU Omnibus Directive (EU) 2019/2161). The exposure runs for every sale concluded without a mechanism: regularising quickly limits the damage.
