Install BackToMe on Wix.

Follow the path for Wix, paste your tag and then check its detection. Paste the tag into Settings › Custom Code, in a few clicks.

The withdrawal button has been mandatory since 19 June 2026 (a European obligation, in all 27 EU countries). Proof is what protects you. Here is how to install BackToMe on Wix in 2 minutes. As Wix is a closed platform, the button is added natively via Custom Code, with no third-party module. 1. In your BackToMe account, copy your tag. 2. In Wix, open Settings, then scroll all the way to the bottom to the 'Custom Code' section and click 'Custom Code'. 3. In the 'Head' area, click 'Add Code'. 4. Paste the tag, leave 'All pages' and select the 'Head' placement. 5. On the 'Code Type' tab, choose 'Essential': the tag loads without waiting for cookie consent, which ensures the button appears for every visitor. 6. Click 'Apply', then publish your site. The button is live on your store. 7. Your customers can now withdraw in two clicks. The BackToMe difference: it is more than a button. Every withdrawal is timestamped, sealed with a SHA-256 fingerprint, confirmed on a durable medium and archived in the European Union for 5 years. Before copying the tag.

Check the required access, then use the location shown for your platform.

Prerequisites

  • An active Wix Premium subscription. The free plan does not allow you to add custom code
  • The Light, Core, Business or Business Elite plan works (custom code is available on all paid plans)
  • Admin rights on the shop

Location in Wix

In Settings › Custom Code, add a code block loaded in the Head of every page

  4. 04'Code Settings' tab: paste the tag and give it a name (e.g. 'BackToMe')
  5. 05'Add Code to Pages': leave 'All pages' (loaded once)
  6. 06'Place Code in': select 'Head'
  7. 07'Code Type' tab: choose 'Essential' (loads without waiting for cookie consent)
  8. 08Click 'Apply', then publish the shop ('Publish' button, top right)

Replace YOUR_ID with the shop identifier shown in your account.

Save and publish

The change must be published on the version your customers actually see.

Over time

What removes the button from a Wix shop

An update or theme change can remove a script that worked until then.

  • Going back to the free plan: custom code is not available there, and it leaves with the subscription.
  • Editing the shop without republishing: the live version stays the one from before.
  • Restricting the code to a few pages instead of “All pages”.

BackToMe tracks the last signal received

The dashboard shows the tag’s last detection. If the button disappears, you have a precise starting point for checking the shop.

Check the published shop.

Do not stop at the editor’s confirmation. Open the public site and check what is actually loaded.

Expected result

The status changes to Detected in BackToMe and the button appears on the public shop.

Every request joins a verifiable case.

BackToMe records the request, sends the acknowledgement and keeps the information needed for tracking. The certificate states exactly what can be checked.

Troubleshooting

The most common blockers.

Every answer can be closed and used from the keyboard.
Code Type: choose 'Essential', not 'Analytics'
On the 'Code Type' tab, keep 'Essential'. This type loads without waiting for the visitor’s cookie consent. If you choose 'Functional' or 'Analytics', the tag is only loaded once cookies are accepted: the withdrawal button then disappears for anyone who refuses or ignores the cookie banner, which puts you out of compliance. As the button is a legal obligation, it must appear for everyone.
The tag does not run in the Wix editor
Wix sandboxes its editor. The button will appear neither in the editor nor in the preview, only on the published shop. To test it, publish the shop ('Publish' button, top right) then open the public URL in a private tab.
Free plan: custom code unavailable
If the 'Custom Code' section does not appear, you are on a free plan. Custom code is reserved for paid plans. Without upgrading to a Premium plan, BackToMe cannot be installed on your Wix shop.
Wix Studio / Editor X: a different interface
If you use Wix Studio (the new platform) or the older Editor X, custom code is reached through a sidebar icon rather than through Settings, but the logic is the same: add the code in the Head, on all pages, of the 'Essential' type.
The button does not appear after publishing
Open the Wix shop in a private window. Then check the published theme, tag identifier and its position in the head.
The status remains Not detected
The tag reports when a public page loads it. Visit the published shop in a private window, then refresh the status in BackToMe.
The form does not open
Test without browser extensions. Also check the CSP policy and any tool that blocks third-party scripts.
Can I give the installation to my developer?
Yes. Send them the tag and this guide. They do not need access to your account to add the line to the site.
