Installation

In three steps

Get your tag in BackToMe, paste it into your site, check. That's all.

01

Get your tag

Create your account, add your site: you get a unique tag in Settings > Installation.

02

Paste it before </head>

The same line across the whole site, just before the closing <head> tag, then save.

Tag to copy into the <head>

<script async src="https://backtome.fr/widget.js" data-site="VOTRE_ID"></script>
03

It's live

The ‘Withdraw from the contract’ button appears bottom right. BackToMe detects it on its own and sets the status to ‘Detected’.

Where to paste on Squarespace

In Settings > Advanced > Code Injection > Header, on Squarespace 7.1 (the current version)

  1. 1Home Menu > Settings (gear icon)
  2. 2Advanced > Code Injection
  3. 3In the Header field, paste the tag
  4. 4Save (button, top right)
  5. 5The tag is active immediately, no need to republish

The BackToMe difference

A button, yes. Proof above all.

Most solutions stop at the form. BackToMe turns every withdrawal into proof that holds up, and that is what protects you in a dispute or an audit.

Sealed timestamp

Every request is sealed with a fingerprint that breaks at the slightest alteration.

Acknowledgement on a durable medium

The customer receives the acknowledgement of receipt required by law, which they keep as evidence.

Archived in France, 5 years

Stored and hosted in France, exportable in one click for a judge or the supervisory authority.

Strengthens the evidential value of your withdrawals (electronic proof admissible in all 27 member states under the eIDAS Regulation (EU) 910/2014).

Frequently asked questions

If you get stuck

Check that everything works and unblock the most common cases.

How do I check that the button works?
Open your site in a private window: the blue 'Withdraw from the contract' button appears bottom right. Click it, fill in the test form with your email: you receive the acknowledgement of receipt within a minute, and the withdrawal appears, timestamped, in your BackToMe dashboard.
Personal plan: Code Injection unavailable
If you do not see the Code Injection option under Advanced, check your plan in Billing & Account. Squarespace reserves this feature for the Business plan and above (Commerce Basic / Advanced include it too). The Personal plan and the trial period do not allow you to publish Code Injection: without a compatible paid subscription, BackToMe cannot be installed.
Squarespace 7.0 vs 7.1: a different interface
If your site was created before 2020, you may still be on Squarespace 7.0 (the older version). The Settings > Advanced > Code Injection path still applies, but the admin looks different. Squarespace does not migrate automatically to 7.1; the two versions coexist.
AMP can interfere
If you have enabled AMP for blog posts (Settings > Marketing > AMP), AMP pages do not include custom code by default, for performance reasons. The button will therefore be absent from the AMP versions of your blog. For compliance, disable AMP or accept that withdrawals go only through the standard pages.
I can't see the button on my site
Clear the cache (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R) and check that you did publish or save after pasting the tag. On Squarespace, a server or theme cache can delay the display by a few minutes.
The form won't submit
An ad blocker or a corporate firewall can block the submission. Test in a private window with no extensions: if it works, the blocking comes from the browser, not from BackToMe.
I'm not receiving the acknowledgement of receipt
Check your spam and the promotions tab. The email is sent from notifications@backtome.fr. If nothing arrives after 5 minutes, check the address entered in the site settings: a single typo is enough.
The status stays on 'Not detected'
The button reports to BackToMe when a visitor loads your site. Open it from another device or in a private window, then click '↻ Refresh' in the site settings to re-read the latest detection.
