Clause built on the harmonised base of Directive 2011/83/EU and the law of Irlande (reg. 14, S.I. No. 484/2013 (Consumer Rights Regulations 2013)). It is written in English and indicative : before going live, have it translated into the local language and validated by a lawyer in that country.

Article X: Right of withdrawal (Irlande)

In accordance with European Union consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), as transposed in Irlande by reg. 14, S.I. No. 484/2013 (Consumer Rights Regulations 2013), you have a period of fourteen (14) calendar days from receipt of the goods (or from the conclusion of the contract for a service) to exercise your right of withdrawal, without having to give reasons for your decision.

To exercise this right, you may use either of the following means:

(a) the online withdrawal feature "withdraw from contract here", available at all times in the footer of the site [website address];

(b) any other unambiguous statement expressing your wish to withdraw, sent by email to [contact email] or by post to the address given below.

Once your withdrawal has been recorded, you immediately receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email on a durable medium, stating the date and time of the declaration together with a unique time-stamped reference number.

[Company name], a [legal form] whose registered office is located at [full registered-office address] will refund you within a maximum of fourteen (14) days of receiving your withdrawal, using the same means of payment as that used for the initial transaction, unless you expressly agree otherwise.

This clause is based on reg. 14, S.I. No. 484/2013 (Consumer Rights Regulations 2013) (Irlande), transposing Directive 2011/83/EU. The online withdrawal-feature obligation (Directive (EU) 2023/2673) applies to it from 19 June 2026.

Important : this clause covers the pre-contractual information. It does not replace the technical installation of the withdrawal button, which is a separate obligation. Indicative template : have it validated by your legal adviser before inserting it, especially where there are specifics (digital services, personalised goods, subscriptions…).
